Robert and Clara Schumann

The Houston Symphony immerses its audience in the music of a Romantic Period visionary with its two-week Robert Schumann Festival. Music director AndrĂ©s Orozco-Estrada will lead the orchestra in all four Schumann symphonies: 8 p.m. Saturday (Nos. 1 “Spring” and 2) and 2:30 p.m. Sunday (Nos. 3 “Rhenish” and 4) at Jones Hall. In both program British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor will take center stage in Schumann’s Piano Concerto. Grosvenor will also present Schumann’s scintillating Kreisleriana in a late-night mini-recital at 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the Sky Bar in nearby Kirkland & Ellis. houstonsymphony.org; 713-224-7575.
