John Cage

Love it or hate it, John Cage’s cycle of Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano remains, sixty years after its composition, a landmark of 20-century music, calling for screws, bolts, and other objects to be placed  inside the piano. Pianist Boris Berman, trained in the Russian virtuosic tradition, presents a rare complete performance of this monument of American experimentalism on the Soundings new music series at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas.

The performance is at 7:30 pm Saturday at 2001 Flora Street, Dallas. nashersculpturecenter.org. 214-242-5100.
