Eyes and ears will be focused on the Dallas debut of an upcoming young soprano Friday night, when Dallas Opera presents a semi-staged version of Puccini’s earliest masterpiece, Manon Lescaut. Arkansas-born soprano Kristin Lewis, who will sing the title role, established herself at major European opera houses in recent years, and made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in the title role in Verdi’s Aida in January.

She will be joined in this production by Musa Ngqungwqna, Gregory Kunde, Andrea Silvestrelli, and conductor Emmanuel Villaume. The performance will open at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Winspear Opera House, and will be repeated  2 p.m. Sunday and at 7:30 p.m. March 6 and 9. dallasopera.org; 214.443.1000.
