The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and music director Miguel Harth-Bedoya have put together a particularly intriguing concert for their upcoming appearance at Washington’s Kennedy Center on April 10. The hometown audience gets to hear the program first in three performances this weekend at Bass Performance Hall.

Peruvian composer Jimmy Lopez’s Suite from the opera Bel Canto (based on the novel by Ann Patchett) will open the program, followed by a performance of Bernstein’s Serenade with guest soloist Augustin Hadelich. After intermission, an ensemble of six dancers from the Texas Ballet Theatre will be onstage with the orchestra for a performance of Anna Clyne’s RIFT: A Symphonic Ballet, choreographed by Kitty McNamee.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday. fwsymphony.org
